Literacy program.
Weekly Literacy Program at SMK All Saints conducted by Interact club is to improve the reading skill and interest of the students who weak in reading and understanding. The project is a long term reading program with more than 30 interactors involved. And the program is oversee by the Miss Susan and Miss Yu, the teacher in charge of the Interact club.
Club Meeting on 25/4/2011.
The meeting began with the President welcome guests and Rotarians, followed by national anthem and a toast to our beloved King. The fellowship singing was led by Vice President Jack Ong and accompanied by Rtn Chiang Wei Chia. - " Moon River ". The song did make every one feel a little romantic during the meeting. PP WArrence Chan introduced the visiting guest Mr. Azahar and Mr. Alfred from Sabah Medical Centre, Mr. Kee guest of PP Warrence and PP Laura of Rotaract club of KK, Mr. Yong Rotary Club of Petaling Jaya and AG Phillip Chong. Rotarians toasted on the Visiting Rotarian and Rotaractor.
Rtn Iskandar and Rtn Ravi made their report on the medical outreach at Banggi Island and thank everyone for all the effort to make the trip a success. President presented a plate of "Service above self" to Mr. Azahar, CEO of SMC and Mr. Alfred, and Miss Laura. Mr. Azahar gave a speech to thank RCKK for a very meaningful and rewarding camp. And hope more of this type of project be carried out in the future.
IPP Frankie made a briefing on the Hostel project with Sabah Credit Corperation to be launched on 29/4 at Kampong Kalibongan.
VP Jack announced on the talent search for the Jazz festival to be held in June 2011 at Hyatt.
President made a few announcements on the inter clubs bowling fellowship at Sutera Harbour on 29/4 to be organised by RC Luyang. Anyone interested please call Rtn Mike Alford.
Medical Outreach at Banggi Island 0n 22 to 24/4
It was a very rewarding trip for all the medical team and Rotarians to serve in the medical camp at Meliuan at Banggi island. There were 2o doctors accompanied by 15 assistants, Rotarians, Rotarian's family and Umno Wanita and Puteri. The team was sent off by PP Robert Kuan and Rtn Paul Thien at Damai Community hall. We had a stopover at fried Banana store for tea before en route to Kudat. We were met by Datin Amina, the chief of wanita umno. After lunch, we processed to jetty to take a speed boat to Bangi. The ride to the island was a very smooth ride. At the island we were put up at village house at Kampong Meliuan which was about 14 km from the jetty. We were settled down with all the arrangement of facilities for the camp which consist of dentistry section, ultra sound and general medical check up.
There were four hundred over villagers who turned up for the medical check. It was very humid in the morning, but we managed to finish the camp before noon when all the three month supply of drug were finish distributed. All the operation were very smooth ran, thank to Dr Ravi who did well with his trouble shoot. All the Rotarians were taking care of the logistic in drink and food distribution. The Wanita Umno were taking of cooking. The night ended with thank giving by the villagers and the heads of the area. On the way back on the third day, the team went to tip of Borneo for a sightseeing before return to KK.
PP Robert Kuan and family's visit to Kota Kinabalu.
We are honoured to have our sister club PP Robert and family visit KK. The interactor's families and Rotarians recieved them on 21/04 at the airport and hosted the family for a welcome dinner. We would like to congragulate Robert Kuan for being the feature as the leading CEO and Chairman in the Asian Dragon Magazine. The interactors' parents whose children joined the youth friendship exchange program to Manila thanked PP Robert for taking good care of the children. The parents hosted the family for a dinner on the second night. Rtn Robert Lo had kindly offered his boat cruise to bring the family for island hopping. On Sunday night the Rotarian and families had a fellowship dinner at Kinabalu Yatch Club with PP Robert Kuan's family.
Club meeting on 18/4/2011.
The meeting started with the President welcomed Rotarian spouses, PP Yong from Rotary Club of Pataling Jaya, the Japanese consul Mr. Kawa and Rotarians. Song fellowship was led by Rtn Kevin Lim. Rtn Paul Thien and Rtn George Lim.
The club congratulated PP Haji Zainie, who had been installed as District Governor for 2011 to 2012. Rtn Stephen briefed the club on the "green song" which was sang by the Rotary Anns. The song will be sang during the green conference in 2012. PE Lawrence reported on the district assembly as one of the best assembly with good house of friendship and the workshop.He also unveiled the Rotary banner for 2011 to 2012 together with DGE Haji Zainei Aucasa. The theme of the Rotary year 2010 to 2011 is " reach within to embrace humanity". The club was briefed by the Japanese Consul Mr. Kawa on the situation in Japan after the earth quake and Tsunami disaster. Later the club handover a donation of RM 10,000.00 to the consul to assist in the disaster fund. The talk for this week was by Rtn Iskandar Shah on the protection against the cruelty to animal. The fine session by PP Warrance Chan to Rotarains did not wear the name tag and did not signed in, and TYT visit which came out in the newspaper. Lastly Rtn Paul Thien briefing on the Korean Trip arrangement and the visit by PP Robert Kuan from Rotary Club of Makati.

Literacy program on 11/4/2011 at SMK All Saints was initiated by the Interact Club to assist the bridge class to improve their reading skill.The Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu had been given the honour to officially open the program during the school assembly which was witnessed by the students. The interactors will assist the bridge class students twicw a week in reading by using different types of media. We like to congratulate the teachers -in -charge, Miss Susan and Miss Ho for their time and effort to make the program a success.

Club Meeting on 11th April 2011.
The meeting began with the President introducing the visiting Rotarians Ag Phillip Chong, PP Yong and Rotaractor Randy Chong. After the national anthem, the fellowship singing was led by the youngest Rotarian Mike- Ebony and Ivory- new version of tone by Mike. The high lights of the meeting were the presentation of 100% attendants recognition and the talk by in -house speaker Rotarian Grant on Why Australia ?. Many light moments during the fine session.
AG Phillip was reporting on the district assembly which had concluded recently and presenting the special acknowledge award to RCKK for the Sindex project.

The meeting began with singing of the national anthem and a toast to our King. Fellowship singing was led by long missing Rotarian Chong Tong Yee and Rotarian Paul Foronda with the song "Smile". We had guests for the last time, Mr. Michael Alford and PP Yong from RC Petaling Jaya.
The highlight of the meeting was the induction of new member Rotarian Michael Joseph Alford, who was sponsored by PP Datuk Vincent Pung.
