Monthly bulletin May 2011

Club Meeting on 23/5/2011
New Rotarian did really bring new mood to the meeting with Rotarian Grant led the song " walk sing Matilda " after Sargent at arm introduced the Rotarian guests from Rotary Club of Kinabalu Sutera. We had Japanese buffet lunch followed by announcements and sharing by New Rotarian on the fire side meeting. Vice President Jack Ong announced the JAZZ festival prelude events of local talent search and encourage member from the club to join the event for fun and fellowship. Our club recognized the contribution of eye checking project carried out through joint project between RC Kinabalu Sutera and RC KK. All together the projects had screened through 15000 students and benefited about 1500 students who received tailored make glasses. Our Club gave two plates of service above self to President Ian Thow and PP Dr. Bakar. Incoming installation advertisement form had been distributed to the member, for those who want to sponsor or friend who want to sponsor please contact Rotarian Jack Lo for the form. Lastly President announced there will be no meeting on the 30/5/2011 and wishing all the member a happy harvest festival holiday. Club attendant 72.34 percent and sun shine collection RM133

Club Meeting on 9/5/2011
Greeting to PDG Edward Sung, AG Phillip Chong, PP Victor Chong, PP Yung, Datin Amina Embrose and fellow Rotarians by President Alfred. After National anthem, Rtn Alex Sham and Rtn Rizal led the fellowship singing " Hey Jude " sounded very raw, everyone had a good laugh over the singing. We had Hainan Chicken rice for lunch. During lunch, all the birthday boys and wedding anniversary Rotarians came up to celebrate the occasion of cake cutting. Rtn Paul Thien and Rtn Jack Lo presented a very interesting report on Korea trip. Rtn Mike Alford reported on the balling inter clubs game at sutera on 29/4 only two Rotarians from our club turned up. Rtn Chiang Wei Chia reported on the hostel project at Kiulu done during IPP Frankie Fu's year. Rtn Iskandar invited and thank Datin Aminah Embrose for helping during the medical camp in Banggi Island. PP Victor Chong promote the charity golf fund raising for RC Likas Bay. AG Phillip promote the Rotary Leadership institute to the member on 21st of May at SGCC . President announced that all the up coming events will be post in the blog. IPP Frankie acting Surgeont at arms fined the late comers, birthday boys and song leader of the week.

Mother day gathering on 7/5/2011
We had a casual mother day fellowship at Kinabalu yacht club. Rtn Chiang Wei Chia's lamb was the best pot luck, so tender and juicy. We had a wonderful evening fellowship over different food prepared by everyone . And having good beer over the sunset made the night unforgettable. Happy mother day to all the Rotarian spouse.
